Well, the birds themselves are sweet creatures, I'm just the one who took the pictures! : )
Images of birds and statues have caught my attention ever since I read Oscar Wilde's "The Happy Prince", which is a favorite of yours as well if I remember correctly. We should do a post about this too.

Yes, they are, and I’ll tell you what: if a young pigeon falls from the nest and you find it, the best thing to do is try and put it back in. Sometimes, however, this is practically impossible. The next best thing is to seek assistance and advice and take the bird to a wildlife refuge, it is difficult for them to survive without their mother or experienced help.
When they do survive, they subsequently think of us humans as their mother. And it is irrelevant that we actually aren’t; love doesn’t discriminate. Birds don’t, anyway.
