With regard to the above subject matter all credit should go to Izmir itself! For those who have not been there, it is a city of about four million people build around a vast bay. In terms of London, imagine an area three or four times the size of the West End, composed of water.
People commute across the bay with little boats. In other words, one does not need to leave the city to go to the sea, nor do they simply have visual contact with it because the city happens to be on a coast. The sea is an organic part of living in the city, and one comes across images such as the one above while doing ordinary things like going to work or coming back…
