David Harvey, Distinguished Professor of Anthropology and Geography at the Graduate Center of the City University of New York, gave a talk on the crises of capitalism at the RSA on 26 April 2010; this talk stands out as a substantial contribution to an understanding of the current economic situation. David Harvey questions conventional genres of explanation, and provides a clear, insightful, and much needed, reading of the crisis as a systemic condition of contemporary capitalism.
